1. Who we are

Spontae (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at growingmindslaw.com and provides an educational study workspace for law students. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@growingmindslaw.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: your name and email address when you create an account.
  • Content you create: case briefs, outlines, flashcards, IRAC practice answers, notes, and other study materials you enter into the workspace.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and study activity (e.g., flashcard review counts, practice scores).
  • Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers — Stripe handles payment processing directly.
  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, and operating system, collected automatically when you use the service.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Spontae workspace.
  • Process your study content through Spontae AI to generate case brief extractions, feedback, and study recommendations. Your content is sent to our AI provider for processing; their data use policies apply.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription through Stripe.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts).
  • Improve the service through aggregated, anonymized usage analysis.
  • Respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-party services

Spontae uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored in Supabase's hosted infrastructure.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
  • AI infrastructure — AI processing. Study content you submit to Spontae AI features is processed by our AI provider.
  • Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export your study data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and local browser storage for authentication sessions and user preferences (such as your audience track selection). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's privacy

Spontae is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
